What is the most popular Halloween candy in your state?

Every year when Halloween rolls around, the debate rages over which candy is the best to get in your bag while trick or treating.

Are you a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup person, or is it all about the Snickers bars? Do you long for a handful of Skittles or hope for a bag of Sour Patch Kids to make your night?

Influenster, a retail review website and online community of two million shoppers, sought to find the answer to national candy supremacy while also breaking down each state's favorite sugary treat.

Surprisingly, the candy that finished No. 1 in five states was the always-divisive candy corn. Apparently there's no "candy corn shaming" going on in Texas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wyoming and Oregon.

As far as the coasts are concerned, Life Savers are king in California, while Sweet Tarts take the title in New York.

There were some surprising choices. Toblerone won out in Arizona, leading to suspicions that the entire state may possibly be a giant airport. West Virginia went with Oreos, which are, you know, cookies and not actual candy.

Many on social media were not always in agreement with their fellow citizens about their candy preferences.

Here are the state-by-state winners, per Influenster.
