Fashion Week Diaries: NYFW from the eyes of fashion editor Alyssa Vingan Klein

Updated

It's officially here! Starting today, New York City has opened its doors to one of the busiest times of the year: September Fashion Week.

Thousands of people flock to the city each fall to get a glimpse of the newest collections and latest trends as they hit the runway for the first time -- but it's a truly unique experience to see it all happen first hand. From the models to the designers, the hair and makeup artists and the editors that sit front row, it takes a village to put it all together.

For our first installment of the Fashion Week Diaries series, we chatted with Alyssa Vingan Klein, editor-in-chief of Fashionista.com to hear the best (and sometimes worst!) things about NYFW from an editor's point of view.

Her team is running from show to show, working from 7am to midnight ... it's no joke to cover the biggest week in fashion -- but it's also incredibly rewarding.

Watch the video above to hear more from Alyssa, and stay tuned all week long to see NYFW from the eyes of a model, hair and makeup directors, and where it all begins ... the fashion designer.
