Losing your ID is an incredibly frustrating ordeal, but one woman got a laugh out of it -- eventually.

23-year-old Christina Egan lost her driver's license around a year ago. She told Buzzfeed that she has a bad habit of keeping her license, debit card, and lipstick in her jacket pocket.

When she lost her license while out in New York City, then, she did not think anything of it. Egan replaced it and moved on.

That is, until several days ago when she received an interesting note in the mail. Egan was sent her long-lost ID along with a hilarious note.

She shared the note on Facebook:

The note read, "Found this on the floor of a bar about a year ago. Hope you don't mind I used it for awhile. But –- now I'm 21 so you can have it back! Thanks!"

The funny confession quickly went viral, getting hundreds of reactions.

Egan was a good sport about the use of her ID. "I'm sure that ID saw some good times...if only it could speak," she said. "I hope this mystery girl enjoyed her time as Christina."
