Best Bites: Mac 'n' cheese pie with bacon

Everyone loves cheesy and creamy mac 'n' cheese. Packed with yummy pasta and gooey cheese, how could you not? But it's time to up a childhood favorite with this yummy Best Bites recipe. Layered with crispy bacon, this heavenly recipe is sure to become a family favorite.

It's super simple to make!

Ingredients

  • Dough
  • Pasta
  • Bacon
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • Flour
  • Cream
  • 2 teaspoons of mustard powder
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Gruyere cheese
  • Velveeta
  • Salt and pepper
  • Brown sugar

Directions

  1. Roll out dough and layer the bottom of a pan.
  2. Cut out the excess dough and form into a pie plate.
  3. Take a fork and lightly tap the dough.
  4. Cook pasta and as it's cooking, chop bacon into bits.
  5. Sautè bacon bits in a pan until crispy.
  6. Drain and let bacon cool.
  7. Melt butter in a pot, and toss in flour.
  8. Stir, stir, stir!
  9. Whisk in cream.
  10. Sprinkle in mustard.
  11. Toss in cheddar cheese.
  12. Mix, mix, mix!
  13. Toss in gruyere cheese.
  14. Stir well.
  15. Add in velveeta cubes and salt and pepper.
  16. Mix, mix, mix!
  17. Add in pasta.
  18. Toss in bacon bits.
  19. Add in pie crust.
  20. Top pie with bacon -- weave it into a grid pattern.
  21. Sprinkle brown sugar.
  22. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
  23. Dig in.
