Vogue magazine endorses Hillary Clinton for president

As Vogue noted Tuesday, the longtime publication has never officially endorsed a political candidate.

This election, however, is different.

The magazine put it simply in an official statement on their website:

Given the profound stakes of this one, and the history that stands to be made, we feel that should change.

Vogue endorses Hillary Clinton for president of the United States.

Vogue is not the first major publication to stand behind Hillary Clinton, with The New York Times and The Washington Post being two of the several that have done so thus far.

According to the Washington Post, as of October 11, "Trump is still without a single daily newspaper endorsement."

Explaining that it understands Clinton has not been a "perfect candidate," Vogue goes on to explain its historic decision, praising the Democratic candidate's comprehensive immigration reform, calls for racial justice and her support for LGBTQ rights.

The magazine also reminded its readers to go out and vote on November 8, after already gathering fashion's biggest stars to encourage registration in September.
