One food is the key to happiness, says scientists

Yellow: It's the bright color of smiley faces, sunshine and mac and cheese.

According to a study, that's no coincidence. Recent research from The Happy Egg Company has revealed that yellow foods are actually the key to happiness.

Eating bananas and other yellow food result in increased levels of "happy hormones" -- nearly 70% of people recognized that link in the study.

Why? Because according to scientists, even from a young age, children are taught to associate the color yellow with joy. Think of children's clothes, toys and even their room decor!

So which foods are the most cheerful?

Omelettes take the (yellow) cake for the most cheerful food, followed by bananas, mac and cheese, poached eggs and pancakes.
