Don't expect to be visiting on your next anniversary trip. The island is privately owned and completely deserted.

Lover's Island's lovely shape was first noticed in the early 19th century when Napoleon's cartographer recorded it in his 1806 atlas.

In 2009, Google Maps captured an aerial photo of the island, sparking heart eyes in all who saw and wanted to visit.

Lover's Island isn't the only naturally occurring heart shaped object in the world. There's also the 'Heart Reef' in the Whitsundays, Australia.
