Serena Williams seeks to inspire and empower with latest HSN collection

"After Wimbledon and before the Olympics, I was feeling some kind of way...I wanted people to come to my show and leave with more than just a fabulous coat," said Serena Williams -- yes, that Serena Williams, the tennis player with a serious passion for fashion.

You've seen her outrageous tennis ensembles on TV, and now, for the third year in a row, you've seen her very own collection, Signature Statement, by HSN, at New York Fashion Week.

Inspired by 1950s fashions, Anna Wintour and Beyoncé, it's no surprise that the tennis star created a collection nothing short of iconic.

As for the women she designs for, "That woman is from inside," Williams said. "She's a confident woman, she wants to be seen in a confident way and she wants to have fun. She's a woman that's described by the inside, not the outside."
