For his Yeezy presentation, Kanye West shuttled editors to Roosevelt Island, where they went through three checkpoints and sat in the heat to watch what was roundly dubbed a lackluster show -- featuring one model who couldn't walk in her shoes.

Back in Manhattan, designer and filmmaker Tom Ford took the opposite approach on Wednesday.

He gathered his nearest and dearest -- Julianne Moore and Bart Freundlich, Rita Ora, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Uma Thurman, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats, Jon Hamm, Cindy Crawford and Karlie Kloss -- for an intimate dinner and runway show. All the clothes were immediately available for sale at his Madison Avenue boutique. (Watch our interview with Cindy Crawford above).

This being Ford, a known perfectionist with a penchant for punctuality, nothing was left to chance. And Ford unveiled a Private Blend Eau de Parfum directly inspired by the runway, called Ombré Leather 16.

"Ombré Leather 16 is an extremely textural scent that imprints you with a tactile sensuality. It makes one feel different, beautiful and desired," said Ford.

We'll take it.
