Throughout Donald Trump's campaign, Cuban expressed a great deal of angst over the then-candidate's racist rhetoric, notes the New York Daily News.

As such, many are confounded as to why Cuban would keep company with Bannon, a man linked to the alt-right movement.

One theory is that the two were discussing business, as they have had professional dealings in the past and Cuban has spoken well of Bannon's intelligence.

In August, Cuban tweeted, "Steve Bannon is smart. Far far smarter than trump. Trump lives in the moment. Steve will have a plan."

There is also speculation that Cuban is pursuing an appointment in the Trump administration.
