Jay Z racked up a nearly $100K bar tab in one night
Two things Jay Z apparently seems to like very much: champagne … and buying champagne for his friends. The rap mogul, while out celebrating a friend’s birthday on Feb. 18, managed to rack up nearly $100,000 on a bar tab, purchasing enough bubbly to fill several bathtubs.
A dazzled server at New York City’s Playroom posted the receipt showing just how much champagne was ordered. Yes — count it up — that’s 40 full-priced bottles of his Ace of Spades brand, plus tax and a whopping $11K tip.

Jay was celebrating the birthday of Juan “OG” Perez, president of Roc Nation Sports, along with an intimate group of four other executives from the company — certainly not an entourage big enough to drink 40 bottles of champagne by themselves (we hope), but apparently the rapper enlisted some help. Reports say he was seen passing bottles out to nearby tables.
Although that tab appears stunning by any measure, it wasn’t even the entirety of the evening’s spending. According to Page Six, Jay started the night off by dropping $13,000 for dinner and drinks, then moved to another eatery where he spent $9K on bottles of his own cognac brand, D’Ussé. Someone must have had a hangover Monday morning!
This wasn’t the first time — by far — that Jay has celebrated in such lavish fashion. A stunning example is his 2011 visit to a Miami nightclub, where he spent $250K on bottles. Moral of the story? If you see the mogul around town … try to get a table near him!
