Megyn Kelly battling NBC execs who are 'appalled' she wants to book Catt Sadler on show: Report

Updated

Megyn Kelly is ruffling some NBC peacock feathers this week.

Behind-the-scenes, Kelly is battling NBCUniversal executives who don't want her to book former "E! News" anchor Catt Sadler as a guest on "Megyn Kelly Today," Page Six reports. Sadler unexpectedly left her job in December 2017 alleging a massive pay difference between herself and a male colleague in a similar role.

The E! network is owned by NBCUniversal, and executives "are appalled [Kelly] would use their own airtime to criticize the company."

Kelly has encouraged an ongoing conversation and sexual harassment and workplace sexism, continually booking guests to share their stories. After the Harvey Weinstein story broke in late 2017, she brought on several of his alleged victims to detail their experiences.

At the Golden Globes earlier this month, Sadler's sudden exit was a recurring conversation topic on the red carpet -- to the presumed chagrin of "E! News" correspondents Giuliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest, who were caught off-guard live on air.

Debra Messing, who stars on NBC's "Will and Grace," told Rancic she was "shocked" by the pay disparity, adding, "I miss Catt Sadler."

The moment quickly went viral on Twitter -- watch it below.
