Matt Lauer reportedly irritating 'Today' producers with unsolicited show feedback

Matt Lauer seems to think he's still on NBC's payroll.

The ousted "Today" co-anchor is reportedly still watching the show -- and he's taking notes. According to a Page Six report, Lauer has been emailing producers with unsolicited feedback about their programming decisions.

Hidden away in his Hamptons home, Lauer is apparently yearning for the power he held in his midtown Manhattan office: He even emailed a producer to share that "he felt they had used the wrong music to kick off a segment."

Lauer's efforts to stay in touch are reportedly not going over well at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

The disgraced newsman was fired from NBC in November after allegations of workplace sexual harassment and misconduct went public. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Hoda Kotb will take over his spot as co-host with Savannah Guthrie.

Kotb told E! News that Lauer texted her "nice words" after learning of her big promotion.
