Poll reveals how much Americans dislike Megyn Kelly

Megyn Kelly’s new daytime show "Megyn Kelly Today" is battling low ratings, and so -- it seems -- is Kelly herself.

That’s according to Rasmussen Reports -- which surveyed more than 1,000 adults in the U.S. about the former FOX News anchor.

The survey found that only 28 percent of Americans polled had a "somewhat favorable" -- or higher -- opinion of Kelly. Only six percent of those polled had a "very favorable" opinion of the star.

45 percent had an unfavorable view of Kelly, while 27 percent offered no opinion.

Kelly has been no stranger to controversy since launching "Megyn Kelly Today" in September. In the show's first week on air, Debra Messing said she regretted appearing on the show, and Jane Fonda snapped at Kelly when she asked her about plastic surgery.

The show has reportedly brought the "Today" show to a "new low" when it comes to ratings, and has negatively impacted Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford's popular fourth hour of the show, for which "Megyn Kelly Today" serves as a lead-in.

On the premiere episode of her show, Kelly controversially proclaimed that she was done talking about politics after over a decade at FOX News but has struggled to present an authentic sense of self on "Megyn Kelly Today" when discussing lighter fare with guests and audience members.

NBC and her fellow "Today" hosts have publicly stood by her, though reports surfaced on Monday that Matt Lauer had dissed her behind-the-scenes.
