CNN anchor Don Lemon files police report over ‘threatening and anti-black messages’

CNN evening anchor Don Lemon has received numerous racist and threatening messages on Twitter so disturbing that he filed an official report with the New York Police Department, a police spokesperson told TheWrap.

“On Wednesday October 25, 2017, the Midtown North Precinct took a report for aggravated harassment inside of 1 Time Warner Plaza (CNN),” an NYPD spokesman told TheWrap.

The 51 year-old male victim, an employee of CNN, was sent numerous threatening and anti-black messages to his Twitter inbox from an unknown individual. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

The NYPD confirmed that the “51-year-old male victim” was indeed Lemon.

According to TMZ, the messages were reportedly sent by a white supremacist — and avid Trump fan.

Police source told TMZ that some of the threats recorded in the police report included “F*** you n***** can’t wait to stab your neck,” and “U r a pile of rotting Dogshit, racist, communist, socialist, Liberal moron asshole,i will find u U will pay.ill see u real soon…”

Though Trump had a friendly relationship with Lemon during the campaign, the CNN host turned sharply against him after the election, regularly using his platform to criticize his performance as president. Trump — of course — has not been shy about returning the fire, routinely blasting Lemon on Twitter from the White House.

A CNN spokesperson declined to comment.
