Lady Gaga: Trump ‘not helping’ Puerto Rico due to its lack of electoral college votes
Lady Gaga has accused President Trump of providing less aid to Puerto Rico because it doesn't have any electoral votes to help him win the next election.
"Oh I see @realDonaldTrump you're not helping PR because of the electoral votes u need to be re-elected #Florida=29 #Texas=38 #PuertoRico=0," she tweeted Saturday.

Trump has been under fire for what many observers consider to be a lackluster response to the U.S. territory which was devastated by Hurricane Maria.

According to CNN's description of the aid response to Puerto Rico versus Texas and Florida which were also damaged by recent hurricanes, "Fewer FEMA personnel are in place. Grassroots donations from fellow Americans are much smaller. The US territory still remains without power."
"Those differences are partly because of issues unique to Puerto Rico, an island that already had a weakened infrastructure, a government struggling through bankruptcy," the news outlet also explains.
Meanwhile, Trump has defended his administration's response.
"We have done a great job with the almost impossible situation in Puerto Rico," the president tweeted, in part, on Sunday.
