Mariah Carey to executive produce TV drama based on her life story: Report

We've had Glitter and Mariah's World. Now Mariah Carey's life story will be retold for the small screen as a fictional drama series.

Carey will executive produce the as-yet untitled project alongside her Hollywood power-player friend Brett Ratner which, according to Deadline Hollywood, will tell the tale of an ambitious bi-racial teen from a difficult background who goes on to become one of the biggest pop stars on the planet.

The Starz network will reportedly air the drama, which is set in New York City in 1986 and is written by Nina Colman, who will serve as showrunner. Its team of executive producers include Carey's manager Stella Bulochnikov, who spearheaded E!'s eight-part event Mariah's World.

Carey should be in her zone when she guests with Lionel Richie on the rescheduled All The Hits Tour, which kicks off July 21 at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. "It's going to be camp city," Richie recently told reporters. "And I told her, 'Bring all the camp with you.'"

The jaunt was originally postponed when Richie went down with a knee injury.
