Patton Oswalt is engaged to Meredith Salenger: Couple reportedly preparing to tie the knot

Patton Oswalt is ready to tie the knot again! A source confirmed to People Thursday that the comedian is engaged to actress Meredith Salenger -- and the happy couple confirmed it themselves not long later.

The two went public with their romance in June at the Los Angeles premiere of "Baby Driver." In the weeks since, they've openly referenced the relationship on social media, with Salenger calling him "the love of my life" and declaring her love for his daughter, Alice.​​​​

The positive news is a happy development for Oswalt, who faced a difficult year after the unexpected death of his wife, Michelle McNamara. She passed away in her sleep in April 2016, leaving behind Oswalt and their 8-year-old daughter.

Oswalt, 48, has spoken candidly about his intense grief following McNamara's passing. Thankfully, he's found light in Salenger, 47, a Harvard graduate with professional law experience. For his part, Oswalt is known for his stand-up comedy career as well as countless film and TV roles.

The two met through a mutual friend -- actress Martha Plimpton, a source told People: "They started chatting as friends and it blossomed from there."
