Nastia Liukin unexpectedly postpones wedding to Matt Lombardi six weeks before the big day

Getting cold feet?

Nastia Liukin's wedding to entrepreneur Matt Lombardi has suddenly been postponed just six weeks before the big day. The Olympic gold medalist has been posting non-stop about her upcoming nuptials, which were supposed to take place in Newport, Rhode Island, on June 24, so this news comes as a major shock to most.

However, Liukin insists that all is well with Lombardi. They're just way too busy right now!

Liukin, who skyrocketed to fame after winning the 2008 Olympic all-around competition in Beijing, told People on Thursday that she and Lombardi are still "very in love."

The wedding will reportedly be rescheduled next summer.

"I'm really obviously very excited to spend the rest of my life with him," she says. "We bought a house in December and started a new business together and we just kind of wanted to take a second and pause and breathe."

Liukin has indeed had a very busy past couple of months. She has spent a lot of time working, including a national tour with USA Gymnastics and her debut as an Olympic gymnastics commentator at the 2016 Games in Rio. She also graduated from New York University less than a year ago.

The couple got engaged in June 2015 and Nastia took to social media to show off her massive ring.

"So this just happened..." she captioned the snapshot of her ring.

"Matt proposed in Boston last night with a beautiful ring he designed himself," the gymnast told People a the time. "He told me we were going to celebrate together and to my surprise my parents, best friend and his family and best friend were waiting there to celebrate with us. We are both so excited for our future together."
