'Happy Days' star Erin Moran may have died from complications from cancer, sheriff says

"Happy Days" star Erin Moran may have been fighting stage 4 cancer according to new evidence from the Harrison County Sheriff's Office.

Moran, 56, was found dead at her New Salisbury, Indiana, residence on Saturday and fans were shocked to hear of her untimely passing.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Office said Monday a "joint investigation into Mrs. Moran's death was conducted" and "a subsequent autopsy revealed that Mrs. Moran likely succumbed to complications of stage 4 cancer."

TMZ broke the news on Saturday that Moran was found unresponsive at her home. Rumors initially swirled that Moran, who had many ups and downs following her time on "Happy Days," may have been struggling with substance abuse, but the claims reportedly are unfounded.
