Duke of Cambridge honors Victoria Beckham with prestigious award at Buckingham Palace

Congratulations are in order for Victoria Beckham!

The pop star-turned-fashion icon received a prestigious award Wednesday at London's Buckingham Palace: Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, presented to her the coveted OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for her contributions to fashion and philanthropy.

Husband David Beckham was by her side after the ceremony, looking proud as ever. He received the same honorable title more than a decade ago, but today was all about his wife's achievements. Victoria's parents, Jackie and Tony, waved to crowds outside the palace gates.

Victoria, 43, wore an ankle-length black dress from her own collection. The Pre-Fall 2017 number was customized for the occasion. She paired it with burgundy stilettos and a simple low bun -- and the ornate red award, which Prince William pinned to her chest.

"I'm proud to be British, honored and humbled to receive my OBE from the Duke of Cambridge," Victoria said after the ceremony. "If you dream big and work hard, you can accomplish great things."

She then gave credit to her devoted family: "I'm so happy to share this very special occasion with my parents and husband; without their love and support, none of this would be possible," she said.
