Jenna Bush Hager makes jaw-dropping reveal about grandma Barbara Bush on 'Today'

Jenna Bush Hager feels "terrible" about a big reveal she made about her grandmother, Barbara Bush, on Monday's episode of the "Today" show.

While filling in for Hoda Kotb, Hager was chatting with Kathie Lee Gifford over white wine about the pros and cons of wearing shoes inside when she unexpectedly shared the previously-unknown detail about the former first lady.

"Listen, do you want to know the truth?" Hager asked Gifford mid-conversation. "My grandma's missing a toe on each foot."

Cue a stunned Gifford, who took more than a few seconds to get a response out. "Barbara?" she asked.

"Has she ever divulged that?" she followed up.

"Not that I know of!" Hager said, starting to perhaps regret her reveal. "She has darling feet, and they look cute! [...] I think it's the second [toe]. Ganny, I'm sorry! I shouldn't have said it, but it happened with age [...] they say if you don't sleep much, your toes go away!"

For her part, Gifford could not have been more taken aback by the news and, for the most part, she could only manage to get out a smile.

"I feel terrible now," Hager finished. "Should I be embarrassed?"
