Celebrities react to Debbie Reynold's death at 84

Just one day after the passing of "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher, her mother, legendary singer-actress Debbie Reynolds, died at 84 following a suspected stroke.

Reynolds was planning her daughter's funeral on Wednesday afternoon when she was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

"She wanted to be with Carrie," her son Todd Fisher said.

Stars immediately took to social media to show their condolences.

Famed comedian Ellen DeGeneres expressed her shock on Twitter: "I can't imagine what Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds' family are going through this week. I send all of my love."

Actress Debra Messing, who said Reynolds was her "'mom' for years," called the tragic incident "a devastating 1, 2 punch."
