Lady Gaga's appearance at Hillary Clinton's final campaign rally is drawing attention not just for what she said, but also for what she wore.

Gaga took the stage with Jon Bon Jovi in North Carolina on Monday night in a last-minute effort to gain support for Clinton in the swing state, where the pop star wore a black jacket with a red arm band and silver brooch. While some users drew comparisons between her outfit and a Nazi uniform, the jacket's origins were actually far less sinister: It was previously worn by Michael Jackson during his own political moment.

The pop star recently mentioned during her Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show With James Corden that she owns at least 400 pieces from Jackson's personal collection.

On Monday, Gaga donned aviator glasses and hit the stage to perform "Come to Mama" from her latest album Joanne. She also sang "Bad Romance," "Born This Way" and a duet with Bon Jovi on his hit "Livin' on a Prayer" along with giving a speech to support Clinton.

"We want you to stand up. Be a part of history," Gaga said during her speech. "What I'm asking you is to be in this moment right now with us and fight for your future and the future of your children."
