Jennifer Aniston wants you to know she's not a "sad, childless human."

In an intimate new interview for Marie Claire's December issue, the 47-year-old actress explains why she fought back against body shaming and the judgment women feel for not being married or having children in her powerful Huffington Post op-ed she penned in July. Aniston candidly says her love life has been "shamed" throughout her career, including her 2005 divorce from her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

"My marital status has been shamed; my divorce status was shamed; my lack of a mate had been shamed; my nipples have been shamed," Aniston tells the magazine. "It's like, 'Why are we only looking at women through this particular lens of picking us apart? Why are we listening to it?' I just thought: I have worked too hard in this life and this career to be whittled down to a sad, childless human."

Aniston has been happily married to her husband, actor/screenwriter Justin Theroux, since last August. The actress clearly still has that newlywed glow more than a year later, and gushes about their relationship.

"Why is he the right person for me? All I know is that I feel completely seen, and adored, in no matter what state," she says of 45-year-old Theroux. "There's no part of me that I don't feel comfortable showing, exposing. And it brings forth the best part of myself, because I care about him so much. And he's such a good person. It hurts me to think of anything hurting him."

As for her career, the beloved former Friends star admits that she's now at a "crossroads."

"This is a time when I'm not completely sure what I'm doing," she reveals. "I'm at this sort of crossroads trying to figure out what inspires me deep in my core. What used to make me tick is not necessarily making me tick anymore ... The most challenging thing right now is trying to find what it is that makes my heart sing."

And the role has to be worth tearing her away from Theroux, who's filming the last season of his HBO show, The Leftovers, in Melbourne, Australia.

"You have to be so madly in love with it and think, Iwill be so upset if I don't go and play this person...Especially these days, with Justin in Melbourne. It has to be worth it."

Aniston's latest project is Office Christmas Party, a star-studded comedy featuring her Horrible Bosses co-star Jason Bateman, Kate McKinnon, Olivia Munn, Vanessa Bayer, and Courtney B. Vance. ET was exclusively on set, where Munn revealed that she and Theroux used to be drinking buddies back in the day when they were both based in New York, and while she was a correspondent on The Daily Show in 2010.

"He'd be like, 'This guy. Stay away from that guy,'" Munn recalled.

"He does like Aaron," she added, referring to her current boyfriend, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
