Jerry O'Connell has appeared on Live with Kelly for a total number of 13 times, but his stint as a guest co-host during the show's Halloween special on Monday may have sealed the deal for him.

"Not only was he perfection on camera, he was perfection off camera," Ripa gushed.

O'Connell's standout performance may be a sign of more permanent things to come because the Halloween episode is considered to be a major part of the show's history.

The 42-year-old actor's chemistry with his potential co-host was apparent, as he and Ripa kept audiences captivated with their wild costumes.

A highlight of the episode included O'Connell and Ripa dressing up as Pikachu and Ash, respectively. Coincidentally, Ripa's former co-host Michael Strahan also dressed up as Pikachu on Good Morning America.

The duo also donned outfits inspired by Suicide Squad's Joker and Harley Quinn.

Other famous celebrities like Corbin Bleau and Matt Bomer made a special appearance during Monday's show.

And while O'Connell looks like a strong contender for the highly coveted gig, an unexpected character may steal the role from him.

High school teacher Richard Curtis could ditch his day job to sit next to the 46-year-old blonde host every morning!

Curtis captured the hearts of Americans after he won the Live With Kelly's co-host search contest. He blew everyone away during his first appearance that the talk show announced they're inviting him back.
