Salma Hayek says Donald Trump planted a story in the National Enquirer after she turned him down

So here's a crazy story via Salma Hayek: The actress says that back in the day, Donald Trump tried to get her to go out with him, but when she wouldn't, he went ahead and planted a negative story about her in the National Enquirer. Hayek shared her ordeal during an interview with El Show del Mandril, a Spanish-language radio show that aired on Los Angeles' Radio Centro 93.9 on Friday, BuzzFeed reports.

To start, Trump reportedly befriended her boyfriend at the time in order to get her number in the first place. She says that when she told him she wouldn't date him even if she wasn't in a relationship, he went ahead and planted gossip about her in the National Enquirer.

Per BuzzFeed:

"Someone told the National Enquirer — I'm not going to say who because you know that whatever he wants to come out, comes out in the National Enquirer. It said that he wouldn't go out with me, because I was too short," she said.

"Later, he called and left me a message. 'Can you believe this? Who would say this? I don't want people to think this about you,'" she said. "He thought that I would try to go out with him so people wouldn't think that's why he wouldn't go out with me."
