Brad Pitt hasn't seen his son, Maddox, since split from Angelina Jolie

Despite having seen his other children twice since his split from Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt has yet to see his oldest son, Maddox, since Jolie filed for divorce last month.

According to a PEOPLE source, the couple's 15-year-old son was not present at either of Pitt's meetings over the past few weeks.

Maddox, of course, was allegedly at the center of the couple's massive dispute on a private plane that led to Jolie's filing. Multiple sources have indicated that Maddox stepped in to defend his mother during the argument and that Pitt made "contact" with him.

That contact -- the nature of which is heavily disputed between Jolie and Pitt sources -- is what prompted the L.A. Department of Children and Family Services to open an investigation into the incident and Pitt's treatment of his six children.

Another source told PEOPLE that the couple has still not had any direct contact with one another since last month's divorce announcement, saying, "Brad and Angie haven't had any contact, and it's all being worked out via their teams. It's just a sad situation."
