Bette Midler, Sammy Hagar, Charlie Puth and Joan Jett as guest advisors on 'The Voice': Exclusive clip

The Voice's Battle Rounds commenced on Monday night (Oct. 10) with two team mates from each of season 11's judges competing for the opportunity to advance on to the knock-out rounds. Bette Midler, Joan Jett, Charlie Puth and Sammy Hagar each joined Team Adam, Team Alicia, Team Blake and Team Miley to assist in mentoring the competing artists and shared their secrets to success in an exclusive clip Billboard is premiering below.

"I looked around me and I looked at what was going on in the world of entertainment and it seemed to me that I could do what they did", Midler volunteers during the clip. "And I decided that was what I was gonna pursue and no one could stop me." Last night, Bette Midler assisted Blake Shelton as he prepared Dan Shafer and Sundance Head for their rendition of The Bad Company's "Feel Like Making Love". Pop newcomer Charlie Puth aided Alicia Keys in one of the night's most heated battles, the Christian Cuevas and Jason Warrior stand-off -- where Cuevas advanced to the next round as Warrior snagged a place on Team Levine.

"The more you are like yourself, and the way you sing, the way you play your instruments, the better chance you have of making it", former Van Halen-singer Sammy Hager advised Adam Levine's group of contestants. Bad Reputation's own and Rock Hall of Famer Joan Jett signed on as Miley Cyrus' right hand.

The Battle Rounds continues tonight on NBC at 8pm. Watch season 11's celebrity mentors offer their advice below.
