Alec Baldwin's Trump addresses tape controversy on 'SNL': 'Are you not entertained?'

Saturday Night Live did not shy away from the recently surfaced audio recordings in which Donald Trump makes rude remarks about women, resulting in a controversy and several Republican leaders pulling their support.

SNL's cold open began with an "encore presentation" of the VP debate, but it quickly switched gears.

"Are you not entertained?" Alec Baldwin said when he appeared as Trump. "I would like to take this time to formally apologize," he said, mispronouncing the word "apologize."

He added that he'd like to apologize to those offended by his remarks, but "more importantly, to the people who were turned on by them, I hear it's really 50/50."

Originally, the sketch began as coverage of the VP debate. "I'm the new Hispanic castmember and tonight I'll be playing Asian moderator Elaine Quijano ... because baby steps," introduced Melissa Villasenor. "Now please, help me welcome America's dad, Tim Kaine, and America's stepdad, Gov Mike Pence."

Kaine, played by new castmember Mikey Day, and Pence, played by Beck Bennett, began arguing over Trump's previous treatment of women, when CNN came in with a "breaking news alert."

Cecily Strong, as a news anchor, presented the audio tapes released on Friday, with Trump (Baldwin) himself there to address the controversy.

On Friday, hot mic audio recordings were released that included Trump and Billy Bush making lewd comments about women. "I did try and f— her," Trump said about now Entertainment Tonight cohost Nancy O'Dell. "When you're a star, they let you do it. ... Grab them by the p—y. You can do anything."

When asked why he would say such offensive things, he said he was "trying to look cool." "I mean what normal, red-blooded American doesn't want to impress THE Billy Bush?"

He added that he was a "childish, 59-year-old man."

Addressing female voters out there, he said, "If you give me a chance, I promise I can do a whole lot more than just grab it. I can also bop it, twist it and pull it."

When they broke away to Hillary Clinton for her comments, she said that to all the female voters out there still voting for Trump, "ya brain broke."

Later during "Weekend Update," Colin Jost was excited that the Trump tapes meant that he almost heard "Wolf Blitzer say p—y."

"This isn't just not how guys talk, it's not how humans talk," Jost added. "This isn't even the worst thing he's ever said. It's just the worst thing he's said to Billy Bush while mic'ed, on an Access Hollywood bus."

"Dear old rich white dudes," Michael Che added. "Just always assume you're being recorded."

Lin-Manuel Miranda hosted the Oct. 8 episode of SNL with musical guests Twenty One Pilots. Girl on the Train star Emily Blunt will make her hosting debut Oct. 15, joined by Bruno Mars, who makes his fourth appearance as musical guest ahead of the November release of his third album, 24K. Tom Hanks will host for a ninth time on Oct. 22, with Lady Gaga, who is getting ready for the release of her new studio album Joanne.
