Kim Kardashian robbery: Inside Paris' 'No Address Hotel"'

Locally its known as the "No Address Hotel." But five masked gunmen managed to find and enter the private residence on rue Tronchet where Kim Kardashian was staying Sunday night, allegedly storming into her private apartment at roughly 2:30 a.m. local time and making off with upwards of $11.2 million (€10 million) worth of jewels.

The Pourtales building lies just around the corner from Paris Fashion Week hangout Caviar Kaspia and across the picturesque Place Madeleine from rue Cambon, home of Chanel. The residence has long provided a safe haven away from the big hotels for celebrities in Paris – Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio and Prince have stayed there before; in fact, Kardashian and Kanye West were housed there during the Paris leg of their wedding trip to Europe two years ago.

Behind the red doors of the historic monument are nine apartments, two on the top floor of the restored original building and the rest in the modern building next door, including the 3,700-square-foot penthouse. That two-story apartment is decorated with art from Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring and Takashi Murakami. The building is also equipped with a private entrance from the underground parking lot.

The apartments run from $1,680 (€1500) a night for the smallest (950-square-foot) residence to $16,900 (€15,000) per night for the top-floor penthouse favored by Kardashian and West.

The former family home of Count Alexander Pourtales was built in 1839 but fell into disrepair before being revamped by French businessman Alexandre Allard, who is also a major shareholder in Kardashian family fave brand Balmain and the swanky Royal Monceau hotel.

Aside from celebrities, it's a Fashion Week favorite for brands as well — Faith Connexion, another Allard clothing brand, and Uggs were still holding their press days Monday despite the overnight break-in and tight security out front. YDE of Copenhagen has also shown its collection there in past seasons.

The residences are said to have up to 20 highly vetted employees.

Various photos on Instagram, including those below, offer a look inside the hotel.
