We've decided to take a look at some of the top TV shows that have been set in New York, and truly use the city as not only a setting, but a character itself. Below is our list for the 9 best TV shows set in NYC!

9.) Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
At a time we we're unsure if we'd ever get another creative outlet for Tina Fey, she comes off with Netflix's "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." Kimmy, along with her roommate Titus, his landlord Lillian, and the Upper East Side's fanciest, Jaqueline Voorhes, it's quintessential New York.

Self-deprecating comedian Louie C.K. is absolutely hilarious in his self-titled FX show about a newly single father who's stand-up is as funny as his PTA meetings in New York City.Photo cred: Facebook

7.) Mad Men
Don Draper and Joan Holloway make 1960's New York look so sophisticated, and we'd be remiss to say we didn't want to time travel back in time.

Birthed from the genius mind of Tina Fey, "30 Rock" was Fey's idea to take a look at what it's like to run a TV show for NBC...much like her time on a little show called "Saturday Night Live."

While it may not be entirely realistic for six friends to constantly hang out in a coffee shop while they all claim they maintain jobs, "Friends" is the perfect comfort food for a great laugh.
