Trump lashes out at New York Times, Washington Post on Twitter

President Trump took another aim at the New York Times Saturday morning, noting, "The failing @nytimes has been wrong about me from the very beginning. Said I would lose the primaries, then the general election. FAKE NEWS!"

In another series of tweets that contained several spelling errors, Trump wrote, "Thr coverage about me in the @nytimes and the @washingtonpost gas been so false and angry that the times actually apologized to its dwindling subscribers and readers. They got me wrong right from the beginning and still have not changed course, and never will. DISHONEST."

Trump has blasted the media repeatedly since taking office; during a speech at the CIA, he was quoted as saying, "I have a running war with the media. They are among the most dishonest human beings on Earth."

Trump's chief strategist Steve Bannon recently suggested that the media should "keep its mouth shut."

The comment was made during a phone interview with the New York Times Wednesday after he criticized the press for being caught off guard by Trump's election victory.

Bannon said, "The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile."
