Free marijuana will be given out at Trump's inauguration

One organization wants you to be flying high on Inauguration Day -- whether you voted for Donald Trump or not.

The DC Cannabis Coalition announced plans to hand out 4,200 joints of marijuana for free.

"The main message is it's time to legalize cannabis at the federal level," Adam Eidinger, the founder of DCMJ, told WPIX.

Voters in D.C. passed an initiative to legalize the recreational use of cannabis in 2014.

If you'd like to make your day a little more lit, the group will begin handing out the joints at 8 a.m. on Jan. 20 on the west side of Dupont Circle.

Though Initiative 71 makes it legal to possess up to 2 ounces of weed, grow it and give it away -- it's still illegal to sell it.

Recipients of the free weed are encouraged to start smoking about four minutes into Trump's inaugural address.
