Viola Davis stuns at special screening of 'Fences' in New York City

Viola Davis attended a special screening of her upcoming film "Fences" in New York City on Monday night, and she looked absolutely incredible on the red carpet.

Davis, who is considered the frontrunner for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her turn in the Denzel Washington-directed film, rocked a simple, off-the-shoulder black dress with magenta accents.

The form-fitting ensemble hugged her in all the right places, and she finished off the look with straightforward stacked bracelets, dangling gold earrings and a black clutch.

Davis has been on a red carpet hot streak recently, as she begins to step out more and more in support of her emotional film, which is based on a play by the same name that she won a Tony for when it was on Broadway.

The "How To Get Away With Murder" actress stars in the film alongside its director, Washington, who also headlined the stage version with Davis.

This isn't the first time that Davis has been considered the favorite for an Academy Award. She was favored to win the Best Actress statue for her turn in "The Help" before Meryl Streep famously edged her out for her celebrated "Iron Lady" role.
