Alan Thicke's love story with his wife of 17 years, Tanya

Two days before her husband Alan Thicke passed away suddenly at the age of 69, Tanya Thicke shared a sweet photo of she and her husband on Instagram.

She was posed looking longingly at her husband while Thicke looked directly at the camera and she captioned the fun photo, "I've got the cutest designated driver EVER!!!! JP & @eloisedejoria sure know how to throw a party! Thx you for having us."

Just five weeks ago, the couple celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary and enjoyed a trip to the Bahamas to celebrate the special milestone.

Tanya's Instagram is filled with recent photos and throwbacks of their love story. She posted a sweet picture of them when they first started dating and captioned it, "I love this man so much."

Tanya was the "Growing Pains" star's third wife. The pair met in Miami on the heels of Thicke's divorce from his second wife, Gina Tolleson. At the time, Bolivian-born Tanya Callau was working as a model and Thicke was hosting a show. While there are few details about the beginnings of their relationship, the pair seemed smitten from the start. They met in 1999 and married on May 7, 2005.

Director Garry Marshall was their groomsman and Paula Patton was one of Tanya's bridesmaids.

Throughout their 17-year marriage, the pair traveled and worked together and had their own Canadian reality show "Unusually Thicke." They also had close ties with all of Thicke's children, Robin, Brennan and Carter. Tanya regularly posted photos of their family all together. The couple also raised Thicke's youngest son, Carter, and he was with Alan Thicke at the time of his death.

Tanya has yet to make a public statement about her husband's sudden death, but the loss must be incredibly difficult.
