Rent the Runway opens new flagship store -- and it's beyond dreamy

When you walk into the brand-new Rent the Runway flagship store in New York City -- which opened its doors to the public Tuesday -- you'll find a waiting area so stunning, you'll question if you just stumbled into someone's living room. As you wander farther back, you'll almost convince yourself that you've made your way into a stunning walk-in closet -- and that's exactly how Rent the Runway planned it.

Seriously, we'd live there.

After all, Maureen Sullivan, President of Rent the Runway's Classic Business, says that the overwhelming majority of people the brand asked indicated that they dream of having a closet like Carrie Bradshaw's in "Sex and the City."

Take a peek inside:

Though many customers are content renting the runway digitally, others crave that in-store experience, with the ability to browse, try items on and get one-on-one advice from a professional stylist (we tried it and landed the perfect outfits for our holiday festivities!) -- and that's where the RTR store comes in.

Do you have a same-day event and just enough time to pick up a dress you've chosen digitally? No problem, your selection will be waiting for you at the "bar" when you arrive. Do you want a fitting room but have too many other errands to run to justify sitting in the lovely waiting area to wait for one (you might want to though, just saying)? Simple solution: Check yourself in at a tablet stand by the door and you'll receive a text when one of the 16 fitting rooms (more than ever!) is ready for you.

Not to mention that before you make the trip, you can see exactly what's available in the store via the Rent the Runway app. In case you haven't noticed, RTR is not in the business of wasting your time.

The new New York City flagship is not the only brick-and-mortar store the brand has, with others in Las Vegas, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and even a pop-up in a San Francisco Neiman Marcus (learn more about that partnership in the video above).

Sure, any of the stores only can offer a fraction of the dresses, shoes and accessories that the brand has to offer (you can browse that infinite collection in-store, as well) -- but Rent the Runway prides itself on giving women options, depending on what kind of fashion pickle they may be in at any given time in their lives.

And boy are we here for it.
