President Obama's final year in the White House

President Barack Obama has called 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue home for the past eight years, and 2016 has been a year full of lasts for him -- his last State of the Union, his last Medals of Freedom, his last turkey pardoning. He spent also a lot of time traveling, becoming the first sitting president to visit both Hiroshima and Cuba (since 1928).

On November 10, Obama met with President-elect Donald Trump at the White House, beginning the transition of power.

Now that President Obama is officially a lame duck, take a look back at his final year in office below.

2016 wasn't the only historical year for the 44th president by any means. From his inauguration to his TV appearances and interactions with other world leaders, President Obama certainly was never camera shy. Check out a behind-the-scenes look at his full tenure in the Oval Office:
