World's tallest temple being built in India

A temple being built in India is set to become the tallest religious structure in the world, notes CNN.

Called Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir, its central grand temple is designed to rise nearly 700-feet high, making it taller than Germany's Ulm Minster.

According to a website about the project, the grounds will also house a Krishna Heritage Museum and Krishna Heritage Study Center in addition to other temples, event spaces, and exhibits.

The area will notably be surrounded by 12 forests which have been designed to incorporate natural elements like fruit trees and flowers as a further reflection of Krishna.

The foundation's 511 columns are expected to be finished by March 2017.

According to CNN, "Indian practice InGenious Studio and structural consultant Thornton Tomasetti have designed the temple-cum-cultural center."
