Dear Santa: Please bring me an iPhone this holiday season.
If adults in the U.S. wrote letters to Santa, many of them would likely begin with some variation of those sentiments.

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster tells CNBC that Apple's iPhone earned the top spot on American's holiday wish list for 2016. The wish list is based on Piper Jaffray's annual Holiday Spending Intentions Survey of 1,000 consumers. Munster says:
"The percentage of people who wanted an iPhone [was 7.2 percent]. That was the No. 1 requested gift. It was [5.2 percent] in 2015."
MacBooks are the second-most-requested holiday gift this season, followed by the Xbox. For kids, it appears that Hatchimals are the must-have toy this holiday season.
Munster says regardless of the iPhone 7's lukewarm response from users, the Apple device is still a big hit with consumers. Munster tells CNBC:
"I understand the theme is, 'It's not as exciting,' but consumers definitely want to be buying these iPhones."
