93-year-old veteran reunited with stolen, beloved Chihuahua

Many dog owners cannot bear to think about what would happen if their pet was stolen. One World War II veteran had to face that nightmare scenario -- but thankfully, all is resolved now.

Los Angeles news station KTLA reported that last week, Roger LeClair's dog, Lola, was stolen from his home. A child reported that he saw a woman drive up to LeClair's house and take Lola; she told the child that she was taking the 1 1/2 pound dog to the veterinarian.

LeClair described Lola as "the love of his life" and was devastated that she was missing. He told KTLA, "For the last week and a half, day and night, I go to bed thinking about her," he said. "I wake up a time or two at night thinking about her. I guess you call it grieving."

Thankfully, however, LeClair does not have to grieve anymore. Cynthia Godfrey found Lola at a dog park near her home in Chino. She cared for the 12-year-old dog until she found LeClair from previous news coverage.

Godfrey returned Lola to LeClair, and now the best friends are together again.
