Niall Horan proved he doesn't need any bandmates to rule a stage at the American Music Awards.

The One Direction singer took the AMA stage to perform his first solo single "This Town" upon a (beautifully carpeted) circular platform in quite the dapper outfit, but ultimately it was his vocals that ruled the performance.

While he didn't move around the stage in the way that he would've with his three other lads accompanying him, Horan got the chance to show off his smooth voice as he sang his sweet acoustic tune -- and it certainly worked out in his favor.
