According to the Washington Post, "They talked about raising children and took a tour of the White House's private residence before heading to the Oval Office to meet with the president and president-elect. The tour also included a visit to the Truman Balcony, which overlooks the South Lawn, and a tour of the State Floor of the executive mansion with the White House curator."

Within hours the photo of Michelle and Melania was widely circulated on social media with a wide range of reactions as expected.

One user noted, "Michelle. Is. Meeting. With. Melania. Now. I'm not ready. The world's not ready."

Another commenter said, "While Obama and Trump talk in the Oval Office, Michelle Obama will give Melania Trump a tour of the WH. That's gotta be so awkward."
