Vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine woke up early on Election Day to be the first one at his polling location, but his plan was foiled. Thankfully, he doesn't mind at all.

The VP hopeful shared a photo on Twitter of the first one to reach the polls in their Richmond, Virginia station: 99-year-old Minerva Turpin.

"I wanted to be first at my polling place, but 99-year-old Minerva Turpin beat me to it," he said.
