Student suspended for taking extra chicken nugget for lunch

A student was suspended from school Monday after he grabbed an extra chicken nugget to eat for lunch.

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, a senior named Carson Koller from Farragut High School faced disciplinary action for taking six nuggets instead of the standard five.

Eventually, officials discovered Koller had been charged three times for his lunch all together -- he was charged once before the sixth nugget was discovered, once after they found it and the third charge happened mysteriously.

Koller's mother, Carrie Koller Waller, posted to Facebook about the incident:

"I am shaking my head over this and not sure what to do....laugh, punish, argue, dress him up as a nugget bandit or let it go," she wrote. "Is it theft if he paid for it?"

She noted that her son is "an Eagle Scout, captain of the drumline, all-around hardworking and (a) well-rounded teenager."

Koller's suspension was lifted when officials found that there "was some misinformation" about the incident.

"Honestly, I appreciate the way [Farragut High School principal] Siebe handled this," his mother wrote. "He was very willing to review the situation and make things right. Carson only missed part of his first class today."
