Beyonce to perform at CMA Awards tonight

The Beyhive may want to tune into the Country Music Association Awards tonight (Nov. 2). According to People, multiple sources say that Beyonce is in Nashville, Tenn., where the CMAs will be airing from live on ABC. Now the channel confirms the reports as well, via a tweet from the Good Morning America account:

Reps for Beyonce and the CMAs did not immediately return Billboard's requests for comments.

While the singer has been known for dominating pop and R&B, Beyonce delivered the country-tinged "Daddy Lessons" on her chart-topping visual album Lemonade, which premiered this past April on HBO. Last spring, the Dixie Chicks also covered the folky track at a concert in Manchester, England.

Earlier this year, "Daddy Lesson" co-writer Kevin Cossom explained the country influence on the standout track in an interview with Billboard. "It felt more folk than country, but I think people naturally interpreted it for country," he said. "I think folk is a sister of soul as well. It's not too far from what we already feel or do. It's just changing the music format, making it more organic naturally."

The CMAs will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and has been known for big surprises. At the 49th CMAs ceremony, Justin Timberlake popped up for a joint performance with Chris Stapleton, who bagged three trophies, and became the No. 1 trending search term on Google following the awards show.
