Candidate snags landslide victory in mock election for kids

America's K-12 students have cast their Scholastic Student Vote mock election ballots, as they have for every presidential race since 1940, and this time around their candidate of choice is Hillary Clinton.

The seasoned Democrat won by a landslide, garnering 52% of the vote to Donald Trump's 35%.

Some opted for neither, with 13% choosing to write in other picks.

Gary Johnsonemerged with 2% support and Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein received 1% each.

Spider-Man, Kanye West, and bacon were also represented.

According to Scholastic News, "Since 1940, the results of the student vote have usually mirrored the outcome of the presidential election. In fact, Scholastic readers have been wrong only twice."
