'SNL': Emily Blunt joins the Trumps in spoof of Beyonce's 'Lemonade'

Emily Blunt went from Girl on the Train to a Trump on Saturday Night Life.

Blunt started off her SNL hosting gig with a plea for goodwill. As the audience cheered her on, the actress was on a mission to make everyone feel happy again, despite the present climate, brought on by the feisty opponents vying for the presidency.

But, first, Blunt had to point out how her superior she was, "I am Emily Blunt, and as you can tell from my accent, I am smarter than you."

Then, it was a full on musical reverie as the actress kicked into gear by singing the ode to joy, "Get Happy" while hilariously explaining the meaning behind her antics. "I just feel like there are dark clouds hanging over us," she said. "Let's have some fun again."

Kenan Thompson and Cecily Strong joined Blunt in the spirited serenade, as cookies were passed around and puppies distributed, with Blunt encouraging "happy" recipients to "let it lick your face."

A guy who was marked as "stressed" was given the opportunity indulge in a massage, a woman was greeted with a large cake featuring her likeness and some people were harassed by over-zealous huggers. The fun had started and the balloons released from above only helped to set the mood of what was to come.

Blunt joined her cast mates in a winning rendition of Beyonce's "Lemonade" that showcased the characters re-working the lyrics to fit the scale of their roles.

Ivanka Trump came to life through Blunt's portrayal as she sang out the tension between the presidential candidate's eldest daughter and long-time friend, Chelsea Clinton. "I'm supposed to be the brains here / I'll miss you Chelsea Clinton. Call me Chelsea Clinton!"

Strong once again took on the role of Melania Trump and had her cue when Mike Pence made his entrance and Melania went into a medley, "See Mike Pence in the corner looking for the backdoor."

Pence replied, "You only want me when I'm not there."

Blunt also paired up with Leslie Jones in a skit about escorts who have a long list of dos and don'ts. The accent came into effect again, as Blunt used it to demolish any fantasies her supposed encounter may have unknowingly harbored.

The Great British Bakeoff took on a new spin when Blunt and Strong partnered up as English lasses with nothing more to offer but their hard-to-comprehend deliveries and insults for Paul Hollywood.

All in all, it was night of Trump and the stoic reference to the opulence of the British accent which always makes anyone who can't muster it feel mockingly inadequate. Tom Hanks is next on the roster of stars with musical guest Lady Gaga on Oct. 22. The songstress is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of her upcoming album, Joanne.
