Think back to your grade school days. There was truly nothing worse than getting your cafeteria lunch and not knowing exactly what you were looking at on your tray.

Luckily, the students at Northwest Kidder Middle School were likely warned ahead of time that their lunch was going to look a bit... different.

The pasta being served up wasn't just typical spaghetti... it was pink!

MLive reported the middle school hosted Pink Day in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Naturally, that meant the school cafeteria was dishing out pink pasta.

The superintendent of the school shared his "Mountie pride" for the school's pink-themed lunch on social media.

Along with the pasta, the menu also included pink Jell-O and roasted red potatoes.

Liz Evans, the school's Food Service Director, wanted to find a fun and creative way to bring cancer awareness to kids.

With something as unique as pink pasta, it's safe to say Evans' mission was certainly accomplished.
