Donald Trump's tweets upstaged the VP debate

On a night typically reserved for the vice presidential candidates, America's showman-turned-politician Donald Trump couldn't resist stealing some of the spotlight. Trump fast and furiously live-tweeted the vice presidential debate, retweeting supporters and sharing some commentary of his own.

Trump kicked off the night by calling out longtime media rival Megyn Kelly after she quipped he was "surrounded by his team" and campaign manager Kellyanne Conway has "got the thumbs" under control.

After Governor Mike Pence denied that his running mate was not running an "insult-driven campaign," Trump disproved his point by tweeting out a bunch of insults.

Trump did praise his vice presidential candidate often during his tweetstorm, declaring him the winner 30 minutes into the debate – much like the GOP had hours before the debate started.
